Think you will find the strips are glued onto a ply base - they were on my 37 of the same year. so no need for a breaker tape, just fill the seams with caulk and level.

But instead it looks like teak sections are solid areas of teak wood with grooves just for decoration. Is it the case?

I don't think so, if you look at the grain it shows these are individual planks with a rebate cut on one edge to form the groove.

Not sure I got it... It looks like old caulking is siting in the bottom edges of the groove. I even started to deeper the grove with my fein tool since it was only 3mm depth, and it was hard to remove old caulk from bottom edge. If this is rebate cut, then is it save to deeper the grove?

Ok, now I got it. I guess you mean rebate looks like on attached picture. In this case there is nothing wrong with making groove more deep, because this basically remove (or cuts) the rebate, which actually increase effective teak thickness ( anyway, rebate is not required any more)

Correct?

Folks, thank you for all suggestions!

Finally I came to Greece and started the work, but after removing old caulk I found that seams don't go up to gelcoat... (please see attached picture). I expected to to see teak planks glued to gelcoat and gaps between them (up to gelcoat). But instead it looks like teak sections are solid areas of teak wood with grooves just for decoration. Is it the case?

If this is the case, I think bond breaker tape is not required, right?

Modifications & Equipment / Engine Instrument Panel
« Last post by Ailatan on Yesterday at 10:06 »
I don't like the way our (boats 2000 era) Volvo instrument panel is fitted.

First of all the panel itself is made out of plastic and the hole for the screws are too close to the corners so if you tighten usually the whole corner brake.

Second it's too exposed to elements and shocks

So I ordered a new one, I cut out a 2 mm fibre glass panel and glued it on the back side, I also glued a rubber gasket and finally I made a polycarbonate cover.

I should move upwards the T-bar of the engine choke but for the moment I have access to all the buttons

Bavaria Yacht Help! / Re: Owner's Manual (Skipper's Handbook) UPLOAD HERE

I have the Bavaria 47 cruiser C4 (4 cabins) manual, 2001 model, English copy. The whole manual is a scanned document, there is no vector content, and it is over 30 Mb in size. If I'd compress it to less than 1 Mb, it would be unreadable. If you need the manual, PM me and we'll find a way to transfer the file.

Will try that, many thanks!

Unfortunately Calira does not exist anymore.
Many people who worked with Calira, now work with “Cabotron”

https://www.cabotron-elektronik.de/reparaturen/service-reparaturen/service-repairs/

You can always reach to them if they can provide you information

If your tank is not full, you could open the inspection hatch in the tank en see if your level sensor is not stuck in the topside. Sometimes a little piece of dirt in the tank makes it for the level sensor to be stuck in top position.
On our previous Bavaria, we had a vdo levelsensor and on this one the float and the levelpotentio meter got detached, also displaying the same level at all times..

From my experience, usually the problem is with the level gauge.

Good luck!
