GALLEY BENCH TOPS
« on: May 14 2015, 14:02 »
Can anyone tell me name of the the material that the galley  bench top is made from.
I have a 2004 Bavaria 38 cruiser which is missing the cover over the cooker which I would like to replace.

Sorry, don't know the material but I bought the hinged cooker top piece (2001 bag 40)  from clipper marine. I took a photo to confirm the colour/pattern I needed. Hope this helps.

I was able to match the surface finish at a company that makes kitchen worktops. There is a bewildering range of patterns and colours so you will need to take something like the cool box lid as a pattern. I made a folding top just like the Bavaria one and found the holes for the hinges were already drilled in the stainless steel surround.

One of my co-owners managed to use a cooker burner with the cooker top only half folded back so this forum post has alerted me to the ease of finding a replacement material to repair the damage.
