Transom shower housing
« on: July 23 2014, 04:09 »
One of the covers broke off the transom shower housing on my. 2006 Bav 39. The local Greek chandlery said you can't get them and would have to use a substitute of similar size. Anyone know of a source for original versions or a good substitute?. It's the type that has a housing with flap for the head and a separate housing and flap for the tap.
SWMBO can't live with the appearance of the missing cover! >:D

I tried (and failed) to find replacements. The Force4 ones are slightly larger. However, if your cover attachment has broken close to the housing and is long enough you could do as I have done. Undo the housing allowing for a small gap and push the remaining piece of the tab in so that it can be trapped. Then re-tighten. Worked for me but still looking for replacements  :))

You can get spares from Penguin engineering Portsmouth .  They are stockists for the Bavaria cooker as well.

Ah Dawntreader, as you were typing I was dismantling to check the hole size and realised I could fix it for now as you described. The hole size was 50mm so the one I was offered was too big. That will do for now until it breaks again.
Moodymike, thanks will look into them.
