MD2030 - installing temperature sensor

I would like to install a temperature sensor and gauge in my 2004 Bav36 (MD2030). There appears to be a bolt on the stbd side of the engine block that looks like it would open into the cooling water jacket. I assume this is the location one would screw a temperature sensor in to. Has anyone done this and are you able to advise of an available sensor that would screw straight in?

I think the temp sensor screws into the heat exchanger.  Any Volvo Penta dealer would be able to confirm this, and supply a sensor and gauge which will work properly.
