Pad eye of the main traveller system broken
« on: September 27 2023, 08:32 »
I have broken the pad eye of the main traveller system.
I would like to replace with another pad eye of the same brand because all different options I found in every shop have the holes in different positions.
Does anyone know which brand is NR?

Since the base is intact, why not remove it, drill out the two remaining bits and weld a new 'D' ring into the base..??

Yes, that's another possibility, but as the D ring jumped into the water when it broke I need to buy a new pad eye, remove the D ring and weld it to the original piece. I thought it will be more expensive than if I could find the original piece.

Sorry, I really meant that it should be an inexpensive and easy fix to fabricate a new 'D' ring from a short length of 316 S/S rod of suitable diameter....
