Has anyone used a vent with a fan? Does it make any sense?

Hi!

I was thinking about such device for winter time ventilation (when the boat is not used), but found a solution with computer fan which fits exactly (no need to drill new holes for screws) to standard ventilation tube on my B40 2001. Picture attached.

We use a 12v computer fan to circulate additional air through the fridge compressor, and it's very effective....
But they tend to be a bit voltage sensitive as 14/14.5v will shorten their lives, so I've soldered 3 diodes in series into the circuit to drop the voltage to a safer level..
