Where’s the sensor of the bilge pump?
« on: May 14 2022, 08:39 »
Bavaria 40, 2010: I thought I’d have one of these bilge pumps activated by a lever that would float in case there’s water in the bilge. But now, back at the boat, I find the setup to be different. It’s a small pump and a downward facing strainer connected to it.
Is this thing auto activating? How? Where’s the sensor?

No it is operated by the switch on the panel. You can replace it with an automatic bilge pump if you want, but these are only really useful if you have a boat that leaks a lot - which Bavarias don't!

My solution on 40 Cruiser. A new electric pump twice power of the standard+ an automatic pum with own water sensor, h 24, and dedicated electric mini panel and switch.
The standat pump is to little for 40 ft boat.
