Many cabin lightings and navigation lightings and pumps in my Bavaria 42 are power supplied by a 12v house battery. My question is if my boat is connected to shore power(say 220v), would my house battery be recharged with the ac shore power supply (assuming I switched off the engine). Pls help.

It should be, unless the charging system has been altered.  You can check by measuring the house bank voltage, first with the shorepower off, then with the shorepower on.  If the voltage is higher when the shorepower's on, your charger is charging it.

Or you can tell if the charger is running and almost certainly it will still be connected to the house bank as it was when it left the factory.
