cigarette lighter power output
« on: November 03 2021, 15:30 »
I have a bavaria 32 (2002)   What is the maximum safe output in watts I can connect to the cigarette lighter socket?

I think it's fused at 20A, so max 240W.  The contacts in cigarette lighter sockets aren't great, so using it for more than say 15A might lead to overheating.

Hi

Probably main issue is the plug.
Not socket output W capacity and fuse.

If you are using standard plug with large wattage. (Attached picture)
There is a high risk.  It will overheat.
Even when using fridge. Typically it takes 5A. Plug starts to heat up.

Better option could be use Neutrik or similar.
