Hi everyone. I`m trying to remove the sliding hatch cover of a Bav 31 (Year 2000). There is no mainsheet traveller to consider (it`s attachment point is at the binnacle).

I need to remove it, firstly, to mount a thin transverse wood batten between the sliding hatch and the cover. This is to screw the dodger for`d deck clips into (as the screws keep pulling out of the thin deck fibreglass). Secondly, I need to run wires from my new solar panel to the battery under the nav position berth.

I`ve removed the obvious 4 screws holding the hatch cover down, but it`s still solid as a rock. I can feel with my fingers some metal brackets back under the edge of the cover, but can get no purchase on these. There are no visible bolt heads or nuts under the coachroof inside the cabin.

Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
