Genoa furling line clutch.
« on: October 20 2016, 12:32 »
We have a Bavaria 350 model from 1994 and I would like to remove the furling line clutch to put a shield underneath to protect the fibreglass from the furling line. Do the screws, screw into a bonded in plate underneath or are their nuts on the otherside?  I'm guessing that it is a bonded plate as the access is more than a tad difficult but I would like to be sure before I start undoing.

I'm not familiar with your specific boat model, but on my B36(2002) the bolts that hold the furling line clutch go into a bonded in aluminium plate. The plate however on my boat is fitted in way of the port side cockpit storage locker so while I have been able to remove the bolts, it would not have been difficult to re-drill and tap or through bolt in the event that the stainless securing bolts had seized and then broke off during attempts to remove them.
