Anchor Windlass Switch
« on: July 08 2016, 17:50 »
I'm replacing my Lewmar Windlass with a Lofrans. The Lewmar has 2 wire input from the control box (located above the chart table), whereas the Lofrans has 3 wires, so the easiest option is to locate the new Control Box on the Forepeak/ Anchor Locker bulkhead. I have an existing wired hand controller which I'll reuse.
My question relates to the Anchor Switch on the boat Control Panel- does it switch the windlass power or the Hand Controller?
If it switches Windlass Power I can simply cut the wires from the Hand Controller and connect them direct to the Control Box. Otherwise I have to extend the wires from the existing CB above the chart table.

The switch on the panel supplies the control box relay.

There are 7 connections to the Control Box. 4 x Windlass Power +\- in out, & 3 x Hand Controller. Which of these does the Control Panel switch operate?
