Decking on Bavaria 350
« on: November 12 2015, 19:55 »
Can anybody tell me what was used for the side decks on some Bavaria 350s other than teak?  It seems like some sort of rubber sheeting or even possibly rubberised paint.  I have seen several with it on but can't figure out what it is.  Ours is worn in places and we would like to replace it with the same.
Thanks, Sandy

Any luck with your deck?, I have the same problem.

Are you sure you have teak?

There are a number of quite good "fake" teak products that have been used in the past that look OK.

From photos I've seen, I'd guess it's a rubberised non-slip paint.

thanks for your replies.  We contacted the Bavaria agents in Portsmouth I think, and they said that the way it was done was no longer available and suggested deck paint.  We bought some Hempel light grey and bit the bullet and painted over the existing deck and it looks great.  Just done one season so far so will see how it lasts, but should just be able to re-coat if it starts to look grubby I would think.
Cheers, Sandy
