Heads compartment
« on: March 12 2012, 17:37 »
I am about to buy a 2003 Bav44 and have noticed a lot of deflection when stepping onto the floor of the fore-cabin heads compartment. It seems very soft as if some form of underfloor support has collapsed. Does anyone know what might have happened to it and how best to stiffen it up? I have thought of overlaying the floor with a slatted teak mat as I don't want to have to puncture the floor moulding to get beneath. Any thoughts? SteveH

has the heads got a shower fitted it could be the floor is rotten or gone soft from water ingress, can you unscrew the floor to gain access.       just a thought     tony

My 2003 Bavaria 44 is the same way.  I haven't found anything that has failed under there.  You can look by opening the hatch under the sink and use a light and mirror.  I thought about shooting a 1/2 can of expanding foam in there, but haven't gotten around to it..
