Stiff Thottle Lever
« on: November 17 2014, 14:50 »
The throttle on our B39 2006 has become quite stiff to operate. This has happened slowly over a number of seasons - I'm used to it and only realised how stiff when a friend commented on it. He suggested the problem is a partly frayed throttle cable.
Is this the likely cause and if so how easy is it to replace the cable?

Thanks,
John

it'll be the cable. They do that. I had to replace mine this year.

You can get them in varying lengths, so take it off and take it the chandler to make sure you get the right length.

John, before you remove the cable, try the throttle damper screw. See attached.

Thanks that's very interesting- I had no idea the damper screw existed.
