Battery Switches
« on: January 17 2025, 19:46 »
Has anyone attempted to replace their battery switches?
Ours are situated under the chart table, and screwed in/secured behind the panel, practically impossible to remove the four screws! I attach the switch type we have installed.
A secondary question, we would ideally like to replace the current switches with something that has an integral red LED, to indicate that the switches are ON, makes it easy to make a final check before departing the boat. However, as it stands, it looks like we cannot access the switches behind the panel.

Can't help you with the access, but it should be easy enough to wire an led light into the live side of the switch and also situate it where it's easily visible.

Usually there is some trick to get at it.. removal/ opening of your switchpanel (panel 301) to gain access is very likely. (Your battery switch is about 30 centimeter under it right?)

Thanks very much Happysailer, yes very limited access through the electrics panel door, but certainly not enough to replace, just thought somebody might have experience of replacing the switches. Thanks again.
