‘Panel’ on steering pedestal, below wheel. Called?
« on: December 29 2023, 11:13 »
This is one of those ‘stupid’ questions: what do you call the fibreglass panel on the front of the helm pedestal on my 2006 C30? It’s below the wheel, about shin height and holds my engine control panel, fuel gauge and has a hole for the autopilot servo motor. It’s about 40cm high by about 25cm across. Held on by six screws. Comes off pretty easy. It’s all cracked and previous owner has over tightened the screws. I wanna replace it but can’t even name it, let alone find it anywhere as a ‘spare part’. Anyone know what it’s called and where I could source a new one?

This thing? https://www.svb24.com/en/bavaria-motor-panel-without-holes.html

It's just fibreglass and gelcoat, so it can be fixed by anyone working with those things. Useful to learn for those owning a boat made of the stuff anyways! :)
