Rubber snubbers
« on: October 08 2013, 16:42 »
Hi All.

its been a full season for my Bav37 on her swinging mooring in Poole Harbour. In early April i bought a £15 rubber snubber and put a   warp through and attached it to my mooring buoy. Once attached i then put over the bow roller and tied and cleated off.   The mooring chain being attached to the other cleat, i then tightened the snubber warp until at least 300mm slack in the chain, meaning the warp/snubber has been under slight load all season.

Result is amazing,  the snubber has no splits or crazing and seems to be same length as new, it has reduced all the snatching and chain noise to almost nothing, and i sleep in the forward cabin.

A complete success.
