Remove fuel tank sensor
« on: July 12 2023, 06:09 »
I would like to remove the fuel tank sensor but it has a swing part that prevents the gauge to get out.
Does anyone know how to do it?

No instructions specific to Bavaria but these sensors have an arm swinging up/down.
There’s a floating element at the end of that arm (like a ping pong ball).
I see three options:
Swing the arm all the way up, or push it all the way down. Or get the sensor out as far as possible and find the screw holding the arm in its position and disassemble the two parts.

It's a case of manoeuvring it around until you can get it out.  It went in, so it will come out!

See this old thread for more info, including a link to the sensor's instruction leaflet - https://bavariayacht.org/forum/index.php?topic=2308.0

Thanks for your answer. I googled the problem specifically for Bavarias but couldn't find anything.
Let's see how can I do it with your information

Last weekend I tried again and found out that the hole is thinner in some parts so the trick is to rotate the gauge to find the right place to extract it.
