1999 Rutgerson plastic components
« on: June 03 2023, 15:54 »
Many of the Rutgerson deck hardware plastic parts on my 38' Ocean CC are brittle due to U.V. exposure.  Some parts have broken now and I am trying to find a U.S. dealer where I can order replacements online and have them shipped to me.

Does anyone know of a U.S. dealer of these older Rutgerson parts?

Thank you

You may want to check with Fisheries Supply in Seattle.  They've sourced one or two Bavaria parts for me, saving ordering from Europe.  Including parts to the vang/rodkicker, which is not Rutgerson, of course. But they may be helpful.  Ask for the customer service desk.

We have a 1998 38 Ocean as well and we have/had the same issue with our Rutgerson blocks at the mast base a few years ago and the mainsail traveler this year.  In both cases we tried for direct replacement with Rutgerson (out of Fort Lauderdale) but they didn't have stock in the US and didnt seem likely to have it for the 2023 summer.  In both cases we replaced with Garhauer.

In my opinion, Garhauer was an excellent choice. No regrets
