Weight of ankerchain and anker chain locker Bavaria 30 cruiser 2008

Hello everyone,
I do plan to upgrade anker chain 8mm to 50 meters. Only concern on my end would be if anker chain locker is able to Deal with approx 68kg weight.

Has anyone done similar and can share experience.?

Have you considered 6mm chain. More than strong enough & huge saving in weight.
You will need a new Gypsy for the Windlass.

50m of 8mm chain is fine. That is the standard fitting on later boats. However if you are not constrained by a windlass gypsy size and are buying new chain then suggest that 6mm is more than adequate and easier if you are handling manually. A 10kg anchor is also fine. I had a 10kg Delta on my 33, but my choice now would be an Epsilon.

we have 50 mtr of 8mm on our 33c, no problem with weight
