Transom Shower not working
« on: January 09 2023, 09:53 »
Hello all first time poster here

Question> A friend own a Bavaria Cruiser 33. Whilst the internal shower in the head works perfectly the outside transom shower does not. In fact is drips a few drops only. We have concluded that both showers are pressurised by the same water pump. When the outdoor shower is used the pump doesnt operate at all

I am thinking that there is no water pressure in the line or possibly a lot of air

Is anyone able to hel

Your input is greatly appreciated

Regards

Trace the pipes in the lazerette and the pipe to the shower head. There is often a kink in the latter which restricts flow.

On our transom shower, it's usually because the hose got twisted inside the boat. Have a look if it's the kind where the hose is shoved inside the boat when stowing it.

Thank you yangmr & symphony, problem solved

For others that may have the same problem. There was a kink in the alloy webbing hose causing the lack of water flow.

LOCATION: In behind the aft bulkhead & inside the rear area where the rudder post & quadrant are, where the transom shower hose goes inside the boat well on the inside of that are the hoses and it was at this area where the kink occurred. Not easy to see initially as  the manual bilge pump was in the way. To gain access I had to remove the bulk of the bilge pump and the hoses

CAUSE: there is a plastic / rubber hose holder with only one screw to hold the water hoses and therefore the hoses in place and the screw had shaken looseenabling the kink to occur

Hope this helps some people
