Saildrive type
« on: May 15 2022, 13:16 »
Hi Forum,

I am on board right now and about to do some jobs.   I have one down to check the particulars of the saildrive.   I have found the plates for the Engine detail and the gearbox but I don't know the type of the saildrive.   Previously I have filled with normal Volvo mineral oil but someone said ATF?

I do not think ATF is cofrrect and I should use 10/40 mineral oil.

Can anyone inform me the model saildrive for my engine please.   It is a 2020 B1 Engine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated please>

120 or 130
Both use same engine oil.

Not all saildrives use engine oil. The 120 S-E (which we have) uses synthethic gear oil API 75W-90. Chart attached

Like Kewee says, the 120S-E is using API GL-5 hypoid gear oil (not ATF). All others you'll find in sailboats use engine oil of the same spec as the engine.
