Volvo engine parts
« on: July 20 2021, 18:17 »

After a long search I finally found a company who supply parts for Perkins engines and for the un-initiated they are the manufacturers of the small Volvo marine engines . Volvo paint they green a put the price up 100% or more.
Our local Volvo parts supplier on the south coast of UK wanted £40 just under for one glowplug  I got 4 for the same price.

You just need to find out the oridginal engine model,  mine is a 2030 and that's the Perkins 100 series engine.

Hope this helps.

No need for the popular items as they are listed under Volvo on their website. Call them in the unlikely event you ever need non regular parts.

If you're not sure, tell us what model and year the boat is, and post a photo of the engine, and someone will be able to tell you.

If your engine is the original it will be an MD 22 which is in many ways the easiest as it is based on a British Leyland / Perkins engine used widely in the 1980s to 90ss in many cars and small commercial vehicles. The basic engine is virtually the same as the road vehicles with small changes to fit the marinising parts which were to Volvo specification. It was also sold as a Perkins Perama with a different marinisation until Volvo took it over.
