Any suggestions as to the  length of a pole to hold out my Genoa?

FWIW, on our 36 we have a telescopic whisker pole that we use for poling out the Jib at about 1.2 x J.  The actual length of the pole on each use (the pole can extend to various lengths up to 3.75m or so) will depend on the conditions each time.  However, these lighter weight poles which would need to be at full extension for chutes/Spiniker use are supposed not to be strong enough at that length.
