Siemens 3NA2 832 Fuse

Hi folks, I've just blown the master fuse on the boat (2003 / 36) and luckily had a spare on board.

I didn't buy that spare and whilst searching around on the net, I have found a number of similar fuses which see to be the same spec, but given my ineptitude with electrics I thought best to ask first if anyone has had a similar experience.

The fuse I have blown is a Siemens 3NA2 832, 125A 500V/120ka NH00 gL/gG.

All I can find are these 3NA3 versions - anyone sourced the 3NA2?

It would be handy if you have taken a photograph of it, if you could include a picture of the specifications of the original fuse.

That's an NH type industrial blade fuse. NH00 is the physical size and must match. 125A is the fused current, which must also match. gG is the type of protection, which should match as well.

If all of the above match, you can safely use it.

The voltage doesn't matter in boat applications because it will always be far above the 12/24V used.

3NA2 / 3NA3 is part of the manufacturer's model number, which doesn't matter (and neither does the manufacturer).

The physical width doesn't matter except in situations where the fuse holder is mounted with limited surrounding space. So if that's an issue, you'll have to look up the dimensions, but on our boat it's not a problem.

Old fuse attached, i took it apart to see what had blown hence why no bottom on it.

How did I blow it?

Just google 3NA3 832 and you will see a number of sites selling this fuse.

There is another fuse usually mounted on the panel beside it, I think for the anchor winch but is only about 80 amp from memory. You may need to get a few spares.

I'm surprised I could not find a circuit breaker that would fit the same space. Much more user friendly if it could be easily reset.
