bav 32 2002 rudder column sleeve
« on: May 25 2020, 18:54 »
I have changed the jubilee clips(as advised by the surveyor) on the rudder sleeve within the transom

I noticed the black infill on the top of the sleeve around the rudder column was a bit flakey and desiccated  ;there has never been a leak from this. should I replace this and with what ?

the boat is out of the water but hopefully will be launched soon

apologies if I have used the wrong terms

I don't know what you've got there, but on ours that "black infill" was a large size lip seal, which I've replaced with a new one (make sure it's got a stainless steel spring). Cost around £20 from a seal supplier in the UK.
