Quick battery charger B32 2003
« on: May 21 2017, 11:29 »
I think my battery charger is kaput.  No charge output and all three lights flashing with a audible clicking .   Bavaria have installed the wiring very tight via a loom, also there is a jack plug labled variable output that is not mentioned in the manual. Thinking of replacing with the latest Quick model .Has anyone replaced their charger ?  Tips appreciated.

My 2003 32 Quick charger gave up just before I sold it! 2 years ago. I bought a Stirling.

Do you remember the small jack plug marked variable output? Where did you site the sterling? How did you work around the length of existing cables?

Don't remember if I had flashing or clicking, but when my Quick charger stopped charging I opened it up and found that there is a fuse on the PCB inside which was blown. it is a regular automotive fuse so no problem to find one if this is the problem.
It is a charger made around 2004, newer/older models may be different.

Was yours positioned under the chart table like mine?  the way it is wired in one would have to dismantle the loom behind the mains panel to gain enough access to dismantle the unit.

Yes it is under the chart table.
Although not easily accessible I do not remember that it was a big issue to disconnect the feed and output wires and take the unit out.
I might be at the boat this week so will try to take a look again

Mine was under the berth next to the battery. When I opened it the several of the components were melted around what looked like a big transistor. I mounted the Stirling in the same location. I did away with the little jack plug as the Stirling had all wizzy gizmos inside it. The cables feeding the domestic and the engine battery were the right length to fit straight in.

Managed to fit replacement Quick Charger yesterday.  Cables worked out OK although still a mystery where the small output jack with two white leads ends up.
