Starboard furniture disconnction Bavaria 40 NC Farr
« on: October 17 2016, 12:03 »
Bav 40 NC has a panel of plastic that is behind the kitchen on starboard side.

This panel has disconnected from the furniture leaving a 1 cm hole between the furniture and the panel itself. I have explored any possible path to reach the back of the panel to proceed in new fixation but I haven't been able to reache thew lower part that I suppose is fixed from the back directly at the yard. Any suggestion on how to repair it? thx

My advice is to try to pull the white panel towards the horizontal wood surface.

To do this drill a few small holes (1/8th or 3 mm) about 6 inches/9cm apart along the white trim just above where it will attach to the wood surface. Screw in 30mm self tapping screws (normal wood screws) in these holes but not all the way in so you can grip them. You can then pull the panel towards the wood surface panel using these screws and use adhesive (epoxy maybe) to glue the white panel back in place to the wood surface  Hold it tight with some cords or bungee elastic until the glue sets.  Then remove the screws and fill the holes with white filler - it will be hardly noticeable once complete.

Hope that idea helps.

I would try this because there no way to use an holder to pull back the white plastic. This is because it is not smooth so there will be always air filtering inside and therefore no another to pull it... thx!
