BAVARIA 42 2000 for sale

Reluctant sale of my Bavaria 42, 2000 model.  I have owned this boat for about 10 years and was bought from a Bavaria dealer who took it in P/ex for a new yacht.   She is in good condition and one previous owner.   Standing Rigging and seacocks replaced 2022.   New in mast main, 2023, still not used.  This is just a preliminary enquiry to see if anybody is interested.  The boat is simply not being used as my wife has lost interest in sailing.   So it's up for grabs or maybe swap for smaller Bavaria or similar.   The broker has valued at between 65k and 70k, saying we'll advertise at £69500 to see any interest.   As I have not committed to a broker yet and the selling cost is 8% + vat, it would cost about £6.5k to sell.   Therefore looking for cash offers in the region of £63k.  Any survey welcome, based in Cowes.  Photos available.  qe2terry@hotmail.com

Sorry to hear you are selling. Fond memories of that model as it was chartering one in Corfu in 2000 that got me into Bavarias and the next year we bought a 37 for use in Corfu. Subsequently sailed it back to UK and then in 2015 did a deal with Clipper for a new 33 - now sold for another project.

You might like to talk to Peter Keats peterkeatsboats.co.uk/boats-1 who used to work for Clipper (and before that for Ancasta) who both did the deal for going from the 37 to the 33 and then sold the 33 which you can see towards the end of his sold boats listing. top notch broker, lower commission and no VAT. Really good at weeding out serious buyers and managing the sale process as well as knowing Bavarias inside out.
