Hello All,
I am looking for outboard engine crane/hoist ideas.
Our current system of manhandling the outboard engine from the pushpit rail mount is not very satisfactory.
And a bonus question, any clever harness setups to provide a lift point for an outboard engine of 4hp?
As ever a picture paints a thousand words!
Thanks!

I remember lifting engines like a champ and thinking about a better system of doing it until I switched to an electric outboard engine.
These days, I'm using the ePropulsion Spirit. I can carry it one handed. The battery gets clicked in once the engine's been mounted. Bonus: the battery floats in case it drops into the water.
Electric engines are not suitable for all use cases, I know. But I'm bringing up for inspiration, maybe you didn't have it on the radar.

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately, there's no budget for an electric upgrade this season 🙁

If you google "outboard hoists for yachts" you will get lots of ideas from the images as well as links to suppliers.

True, but I'm interested in setups that fellow Bavaria owners are actually using.

This is mine on 40 Cruiser 2008. I installed a long rope to reach main winch. Outobord engine easy to move.
