Title: Battery separator
Post by: kavok on January 18 2022, 19:01
I broke the original battery separator, Blu color, USA production. I tried to mount a Victron Mosfet separator, but, closing engine master switch, remain 1,2.amp on
engine battery on panel 301 and red led flash. This without start the engine. Any suggests?

Which kind of mosfet separator? Does this separator have a trigger input? Any schematics available?

Victron Argofet 200-2. There is  trigger but
is not necessary with Volvo Penta generator. There is also a ground connection that I activated.
Probably Bavaria 2008 electric system is good only with diode separator.
I am buying a Quick ECS 162 that has built in mosfets+ diodes and run good in a boat like mine (40 Cruiser m.y.2008)

Can't see why an ArgoFET wouldn't work.

If you're buying an ECS162, you might as well get the ECS163 - it's only around €20 more and the third output might be useful in the future (eg for a bowthruster battery).

Maybe your VP MDI/ EVC is on and drains the starter batt?

I can not tell why it does not work.
Surely it happened in other 40 Cruiser my2008.
Quick seller know the  Victron issue and he told me if the reason that Quick work good on Bavaria is that Quick separator has mosfet+ diodes.
