Title: Sticking Washboard Bavaria 34
Post by: LinTeal on April 08 2021, 12:35
Either my perspex washboard is a little uneven at the bottom or the area it sits at the bottom is a little higher one end..This results in difficulty in closing the hatch.Has anyone else experienced this ? Can I assume it would be  doable with say a bremmel type tool to shave off a little of the washboard or alternatively a little of the fibreglass where it sits and may be uneven ? Any ideas would be appreciated..

I think trimmimg the washboard to fit would be tha way I would go, though I think using a rotating tool such as a Dremel would introduce heat unless you were very careful. A file or a woodworkers rasp might be the kind of tools I’d use to trim the edges of the washboard.

Is your lock on the washboard and if not can you turn it round and fit it the other way. My washboard only fits properly one way round. Otherwise if you do need to alter it use wet and dry paper wet and take your time. Don't file or sand the gelcoat.
