Title: Bathing platform issues.
Post by: stevensuf on September 12 2019, 12:33
I am researching into my next boat and the 2011 onwards 50/51 cruiser is high on my list.

I hear that many models have various issues with the folding bathing platforms, do the latter
models suffer from the same issues?

Also any other known issues to look out for on these models?

Thanks in advance.

Steven

The gas pistons on bathing platforms fail but its not a big deal if they lower with a line. Most do.

If you are talking about the electric lift/lowers then I would simply switch them to a manual operation like I did on our previous boat from 2010  ...simplicity is key.

Electrical problems with the bathing platform were common in the JJ series up to 2010. In the new Farr series I'haven't heard any whisper about problems..

Someone in my marina has a new C56, less than a year old and have had nothing but problems with their electric bathing platform. Last I heard ( about a month ago) Clipper had still failed to sort it out. They are understandable very frustrated by it.

2011 Far Bavaria 45 gone through 3 sets of motors, going to modify to rope windlass.
