Title: Hatch replacement seals
Post by: Sen Mora on February 28 2017, 20:04
I know this subject, or better, leaking hatches, was already addressed to some extent.
I have B41 2003 the two main Lewmar hatches are 556 mm square, which seem Bavaria specials ( go figure why they did not use the 60 size which is less than 1in bigger. Must be to be special=more $ ).
The replacement seals are of course very expensive, on top of it lewmar calls them Low profile (25mm). I measured 32mm which is Medium profile. Here are my questions:
   a. Do the MP and LP use the same seals
   b. Did anyone found the manufacturer of these seals to get them by foot at reasonable price
   c. Are the corners vulcanized or just turned around acrylic

Many thanks

Hi there, I am somewhat surprised that this subject did not generate any interest/reply. Hard to believe I am the only one with this issue. Many thanks for any input.

When I had to replace my hatch acrylics Aquafax had the rubber seal in 10m lengths to cut yourself (and glue the ends together). part no. 360068999 £31.81+vat.

Or you could try to reuse the old ones if still in good condition.
