Title: Leaking Windows Bavaria 40 (2012)
Post by: grossifs on September 09 2016, 08:17
[Split from Leaking Bavaria 37 cruiser (2014) (http://www.bavariayacht.info/forum/index.php/topic,1488.0.html) by Nigel]

Hi, I've goot a 2012 Bavaria 40 with the same Moonlight wiindows. The problem resides in the way those plastic are fitted in to the system, only a 2 mm tooth keeps them in place. After braking all of them (10!!) I ve obtained after 3 years from purchase a warranty procedure with ALL NEW hatches. Try to contact directly Bavaria for this.

Bye

They're not the same windows!  The 2014 Cruiser 37 uses a completely different window system, with Lewmar opening ports set in to large plastic window panels.

Hi All. Im having similar issues with portlights on my 50 cruise, had three sets sent out from England here to Australia and the yard cant get any to fit! I would just love a lead on original rubber seals for these acrylic with grey press to lock lights. I hope someone can help as Lewmar obviously cant! :kewl

Just a note regarding those f...g hatches by Moonlight BSI

Since I purchase the boat in 2015 I've replaced 33 (yes, thirtythree) hatches, that means ALL of them for at least 3 times.
When alerted the BSI thier only solution has been to send me new plexiglass (at 25€ each). They have always said that it was an "improved" version but no matter how you fit and care them they broke always at the same point: the hitch junction with the plexiglass.
Bavaria, that is now for the well known reasons not responding anymore, has stated that the hatches can NOT be replaced with Lewmar unless a substitution of the whole frame is done with at least 850 € of raw materials for each hatch.
Anybody has experienced the same?
Thx

I am facing the same break issue with Moonlight hatches on my Bavaria Cruiser 45 2013.
Who ever managed to replace Moonlight with other brand, can he share his experience please?

Thanks
