Title: South of France to Sardinia
Post by: Twhitt on August 19 2016, 15:02
Looking to move a recently aquired Bav 38 from Hyeres area to Sardinia, Castelsardo or Alghero for the winter.

Think its about 30 hours sailing, so not sure if we should just do it in one go, or sail to Corsica for a stopover, then onto Sardina.

Anybody else done this trip from SOF

If you haven't done this sort of trip before, I would suggest at least four crew. I once spent 3 days on the same tack, it was a nightmare.

Haven't done this trip, but been sailing yachts for 30 years, mainly in North Sea.

We have a Sun Odyssey 32 on Windermere, and have been chartering yachts in Greece for a few years, and plan on being 4 of us. It's a delivery rather than cruise, so if need be will motor all the way!

Any ideas about what the wind will be like, or particularly night conditions between SOF and Sardinia?

Thanks all.
