Can anybody with same boat tell me the size of the Volvo 3 bladed propeller required . The boat has the standard D130 with saildrive.
It has been suggested a 16x 11 would be suitable

I have exactly the same boat/engine and a 16*11 2 blade Flexofold and it works well. You really don't need a 3 blade as the 2 blade will do every thing you want. Mine will achieve 7.5 knots at 3100 and cruise a 5.5knots at 2000. Never any problem keeping up in adverse conditions or stopping/reversing. Note that the factory fit is a 16*13 2 blade, but I don't know how this works as I fitted the folder from new.
While that is the correct size (worked out by Darglow) for the Flexofold another brand may not be the same size. So if you are buying another brand then take the recommendation of the supplier. 16" would be the correct diameter, but the pitch may vary depending on the shape and efficiency of the blades. The above speeds/revs ar what you should be looking for.

I have just fitted a 'Featherstream' 3 blade prop from Darglow on my 2007 Cruiser 33 this season. My engine is a D1-20 so only 18Hp - Darglow initial suggestion was for 16 x 9 and it is working well - very slightly over pitched in that Max RPM when moving is 2900 but I get a good STW of approx 8.0kt and its within the recommended Max RPM range ( probably 7 actual as I need to calibrate my Log wheel...)
I am berthed in a pretty tight part of Chichester Marina so the efficiency of the featherstream prop in both directions has been an improvement in manoeuvring.
Sailing has gained 1 to 1.5kts over the fixed 2 blade standard prop...
so 16 x 11 on a D1-30 should be about right.... Flexifold might be a little less efficient

Hi DG multimedia
I was looking at one of these last year (I also have D1-20) - I'd be interested to hear more about how the new prop helps manoevering?
