Our shore power tripped last night. It trips both the onshore power outlet and the trip switch on the panel. I’ve tried a different onshore power outlet with the same result.
It happened last night with nothing charging on 240v, except the battery charger, when the fridge comes on.
The battery charger is a Quick Medium Power SBC 501 ADV PLUS FR, factory fitted in 2006.
Any advice on where to start with diagnostic’s?

If separate, was it the breaker or the RCD that switched off? If not sure, or it was RCD, rule out the water heater first, as that's the most common cause (corroded heating element), right after a wet connector, which you already ruled out.
Also unplug everything from the AC sockets and then plug them in one by one.

Water heater was off. We had that problem a few years ago & replaced the element.
I’ll double check- apart from the BC, it’s possible the kettle is still ‘on’.
I’ll confirm when I get back aboard.

Hi, it could be a neutral going to earth, on most 220v sockets it is only the live that is switched, so unless it is a double pole switch it could be the return neutral that is going to earth taking out the mains

it is not enough to switch of the water heater. you have to unplug it under the aft bearth.
try to unplug both water heater and charger, try to plug in your socced into the wall. everything fine? than plug n the charger? result? fine? plug in the heater....

Thanks for all the advice.
Turned out to be the shore power lead, the short section connecting 32A to 16A. Strange as that lead rarely gets used & looked pristine when i dismantled the plugs
