Title: German mainsheet?
Post by: Mattias on March 24 2021, 17:29
Hi,
I would like to upgrade my B43 Cr to singel-handed. How shall then the mainsheet run from the bom to be controled by helmsman? Are there any instructions/manuals/guides or a scheme over the mainsheet run somewhere?

Yes!
Found it but in Swedish.

I'm interested in doing this too.  That description looked like it used the primary winches though.  What do they do with the jib/Genoa sheets?

It seems they use the optional spi winches, which is a great idea. I will check this on our boat as soon i'm back on board again!

I wouldn't be very keen on drilling holes into my chainplates as shown in the linked article and putting considerable loads on them in a direction they're not designed to take it in. Nor would I trust an eye bolt without a load rating to take mainsheet loads, especially as it's getting loaded at a ~45 degree angle. Bit dodgy solution to say the least! :o
