Title: Wanted: VHF Raymarine 240E Cord R49144
Post by: Klausen on July 14 2016, 11:13
Hello,
with a little help from my friends...The plug of the handset connectet to the spiral cord seems to be damaged. No spare is available, also the Raymarine Support can`t help. The sparenumber of the whole cord is R49144. It would be very helpful, if one or two or more of the UK members can ask a local Raymarine dealer for this cord.
Thanks a lot
Klaus

You could probably just replace it with one of these (http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/?_nkw=curly+cable), depending on how difficult it is to splice on the ends. I almost ended up doing this with a friends Simrad RS87, but they broke it some more just in time and so one of the two handsets ended up being used as spares for the other. There's also a couple 240E bits on eBay - around the price mark you'd end up paying for a genuine spare.

The curly cord seems not to be the Problem. I think it`s the plug, when you squeeze it, the function changes. But thanks for the advice.

Oh, sorry, misread that. Did you try http://www.jgtech.com/? He's been very helpful in sourcing Raymarine parts for me, and if he can't get it he might know a compatible plug. Ships worldwide and you can even use Skype instead of the phone.
