My main cabin had a Labcraft CFL light in the center above the table, probably something a PO installed to save power versus the original halogen lights. After I
upgraded the cabin lights, it was quite redundant, but would've left some ugly holes in the ceiling panel had I removed it.
Today I was playing around with a
RGB LED strip and that gave me the idea of converting the useless white CFL lamp into a red LED lamp, for which it was in the perfect spot and much more useful! This worked quite well, as the LED strip happened to be just the right width to fit into the grooves of the lamp base. Photos here:
