We just bought this boat. Unfortunately the previous owner didn't preserve the user manual. We asked the Bavaria factory but unfortunately they don't have any copy anymore. If anyone can help us we would be most grateful.

When I got my used boat, which came with all the original documents, there was no "user manual" for the boat.
The only document which carried the Bavaria logo was the electric system schematics. Apart from that there were simply the OEM manuals of all the installed equipment - mast, furling, engine, chargers, pumps, electronic equipment, winches etc.
But even with this extensive documentation, when recently a part broke in the throttle, I had to search the net and find the relevant drawings to help me with fixing it.
With a 30years old boat there is a good chance that a lot of components were replaced and not necessarily same as originals.
So the best thing would probably to start identifying all installed equipment and search the net for manuals

Dear Lyra,
thanks for your reply. This boat has all original equipment as far as I can tell. However, I managed to find the user manual for the Volvo engine.
Thanks again:)

PS: do you remember the placement of 12v charger jack?

Referring to documentation I did not refer to your model specifically but as a general comment - my boat is a 36 2004, therefore I have no info regarding the charger jack

The requirement to provide a manual only came in in 1998. Before that documentation with boats was very variable, and it is quite possible that one never existed.

When buying a 30 year old boat think you have to be prepared to find your own way around it. Most of the equipment if it is original will now be obsolete and of course many things are likely to have been replaced or updated. Usually not difficult to find information once you have established the make of the equipment you have.
