Anyone with a smart phone can get AIS loaded for free, just look up "marine traffic" and down load the app also other apps are, "saildroid" gives you postion, compass and speed, "tide prediction" there are other you can see by searching "Sailing apps" .

Anyone with a smart phone can get AIS loaded for free...

While fun to look at, I wouldn't rely on this type of App. They show you the AIS transponders near the base station, not where you are. They also have a time lag.
