Boat cushion cleaning
« on: November 30 2014, 11:06 »
Can anybody tell us if it's possible to remove and wash the covers on our boat. She is a 32 foot 2013 model. The material is a sort of white suede effect.

Thanks

We have a 2011 36ftr (farr design model) and all the mattress and seat covers unzip and come off.    We have washed our current set of covers (just standard nylony frabric stuff) in the washing machine on a cold wash and drip dry and they all went back fine.  As to washing faux suede, I don't know.  We used this material to recover on our previous boat, but never got to having it cleaned.  So, yes the covers will come via unzipping, but not sure how to clean them - hopefully someone will know.

We have washed the cabin covers 3 times now, easy to come off but you'll have a great time putting back on  ;D, best put them on outside the boat we done them at home

Put the foam into a thin plastic bag first, dry cleaning bag, goes back on easy then. Rip bag off afterwards.
Hope this helps

Put the foam into a thin plastic bag first, dry cleaning bag...

Then suck the air out with a vacuum cleaner. You can also use thin sheets of plastic found in cheap dust sheets, no need to tape the seams.
