Bavaria 47 4-cabin converting to 3-cabin?
« on: December 06 2014, 07:24 »
A year ago I asked this:

Quote
I have a Bavaria 47 4-cabin built in 2000. According to [an] advert on YBW, it may be possible to convert to 3-cabins: "converting also to 3 cabins with easy removal of bulkhead separating the forward cabins "

Since then I have investigated the top of the dividing bulkhead, and it appears to be bedded in silicone into grooves in the underside of the deck, so the bulkhead is almost certainly not structural.

However, this is the problem, the bracket that holds the baby stay (inner forestay):

Thoughts?

fit tube and a new bracket transferring load to heavily glassed in thing centerline off hull , or use a heavy ss stay to do same , no pretty ,and would pass through middle of you great new forepeak , , fancy carbon tube , could maybe make a feature of it ,  but bracket there no thing of beauty , this would allow bulkhead to be removed .

otherway would be to strengthen the deck  but that could be pretty difficult to do and even be effective
