Bavaria 36 Rudder bearings
« on: August 26 2014, 04:42 »
Hola

I have read much on this forum about replacing the nylon / delryn type spherical bearings and have done this job many times. I haven't read anywhere whether anyone has actually changed the whole bottom rudder bearing assembly. The main question I have is that once the large locking ring is removed is the bearing housing bonded or epoxied into the hull and therefore likely to cause significant trauma if driven out with force?

I look forward to any replies.

Jolly

Hi jolly, put your search for info on youtube,  its very good, you can watch them being changed. Bavaria rudder bearing change, or something similar will find it.
