high freeboard steps
« on: October 08 2014, 11:01 »
This idea came from Rob off Seren a Bav 33, but is a excellent idea for getting on and off high freeboards boats without the need for a large storage place as most others require.

The photos shows my stripped down step going through maintenance and re varnish, 3 pieces of wood, 2 hinges, and a length of tube to protect hull.

The blocks of wood on the arms take the weight,  the hinges allow the whole thing to be folded and stored easily.

Marine ply would be better as its more robust. However mine works for me.

Oh, and it floats!

Hope this helps
