Bavaria 30 Traveller

Hi
Has anyone retro fitted a main sheet traveller to a bavaria 30. If you have do you you have any photos and which one did you fit?

I was interested in this idea too when I first got my Bav 30. Over time I've learnt to play tunes with the kicker and mainsheet and I can get the boom much closer to centreline when required. Even so, I'm not completely on top of it and I think I can improve further. The traveller has slipped way down my list of if-onlys now.

Decided to fit a traveller in the end. Went for a very nice selden set up.  :D

What performance improvement did you get? i would like you to give us a few figures, i owned one also, thought i needed a traveller then realised i didnt!

Noticed the solar panel you have fitted in front of the traveller. What rating is it and How effective do you find it? Was hoping to fit a large one to a gantry when I get a gantry but in meantime one like yours looks neat.

i looked at pics today, nice tidy job,did you have to cut slits in the spray hood? and how good and what size :) solar panel?

The spray hood has an appointment with the local sail marker for mods. As for performance, 2 things that are really nice are first setting the twist of the main and using the traveller to dump some wind during gusts when sailing close to the wind. Second is being able to pull the main to windward in light airs.
The solar panel is a 38 watt version and the most I have seen is about 1.2 amps/hr which helps to offset the electronics, auto pilot, fridge etc......

Hello,

I am also interested in installing a traveller on my Bavaria 30, so all information on where to buy and which model / length etc. would be much appreciated. 

Was additional hardware required ? For example - a steel bar under the traveller to extend / re-enforce the installation area ?
