in mast mainsail furling
« on: June 17 2014, 14:45 »
I had trouble with the mainsail reefing for thr last two seasons got advice on size of rope to use from Seldon spars rep at london boat show and demo on how to do end to end splice from English braides. Told to use 10 mm rope not 12.
Had 100% improvement.  System now works as it should do.

The end-to-end splice isn't easy, but it's worth persevering to get it right.

Thanks for post. I wanted to have a go at splicing the continuous line but cost of fiddles put me off especially when the chap in Portland Marina chandlers came to the boat and did it for £6.50.....great service.
